Marta Mendes is a Portuguese Artist, born in Almada, in 1969.

Works in Decorative Painting and studied at the "Instituto de Artes e Ofícios-Fundação Ricardo do Espiríto Santo Silva", in Lisbon.

Her paintings are inspired by the work of the painters of the 18th and 19th century, mainly the Post-Impressionists, the Symbolists and the Pre-Raphaelits.

The figures she creates are mystical and ethereal, women whose beauty is mixed up with the faces of human dolls, reflecting their inner beauty and innocence. They represent the women of all times, carrying all the burdens, but still immaculate, in, and out.

Marta Mendes paints since 2004 and is represented in several private collections, in Portugal and all over the world.
